Programs are an essential part of a child's development, they learn crucial social and life skills by interacting with adults and their peers in a constructive and positive format. YAAACE is at the forefront of positive programming and youth interaction, we develop programs with high level Academics and Recreation in mind... Tutoring-Computer and Media Club: Y.A.A.A.C.E. will strive to create a culture of academics, social and civil responsibility among all its membersthis; the tutoring, computer and media programs are the vehicles in-which we will bring the above to light... For many of our students Post Secondary Education is a figment of their imagination. It is our mandate to make education not only accessible but tangible. Y.A.A.A.C.E has established dual credit initiatives with both Seneca College (Score Program) and York University (ACE Program). The dual credit process implies that while students are in high schools (grade 11 and 12) they get the opportunity to take college level courses for which they will obtain credits which will apply to their high school diploma and to their college/university transcript upon successful completion of High School and subsequent enrollment. A number of Y.A.A.A.C.E participants were prepared for Post-Secondary and accessed Post Secondary Education through the ACE and SCORE programs. In addition Y.A.A.A.C.E will continue to provide intensive academic support at the elementary and secondary school level. ACE Program: Advanced Credit Experience (ACE) ACE is a post-secondary education experience to high school students in a supportive environment. The students who attend ACE are from diverse ethno-racial and low-income backgrounds and are the first generation in their families to attend post secondary education. They gain exposure to higher education so that they may concretely experience some of the benefits of choosing to pursue their education beyond high school. This program allows students to be part of an environment that is supportive and nurturing, which values critical thinking, personal growth and development. This program is intended to increase their likelihood of success ant their level of confidence in undertaking post-secondary courses The ACE students return to their high schools as role models and leaders within the school and positively influence other students to pursue a similar journey towards higher education.
